On Sunday May 15, 13 Hunter-Davisson, Inc. Green Machine team members joined nearly 4,000 participants to take part in NAMI Oregon’s annual 5K walk. Beginning at the East Bank Esplanade, the walk followed the Willamette River and crossed the Steel Bridge before it looped back along the river and finally returned over the Hawthorne Bridge.
Hunter-Davisson’s relationship with Oregon’s state chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness began in 2014 when NAMI Oregon was invited to partner with HD in our annual Community Giving Campaign. Inspired by the free resources and support offered to the local community through NAMI and their partners, our company decided to participate in NAMIWalks Northwest― an event that successfully aims to raise awareness for individuals living with mental illness and the families and loved ones who support these individuals. The funds raised through this event allow NAMI Oregon to continue providing education, support, and advocacy to the Oregon community.
This year, through a 50/50 raffle, two bake sales, and individual donations, our team raised $1,377.77. Overall The 2016 NAMIWalks Northwest has raised $186,894. NAMIWalks Northwest still hopes to reach its original goal of $250,000 and will be accepting donations that count towards this year’s fundraiser until early July.
